ShareVault

ShareVault Reader is an application that enables you to view PDF and SVPDF documents.

SVPDF is a ShareVault file format. An SVPDF file is an encrypted PDF that can only be viewed with ShareVault Reader. SVPDF files can be opened by clicking a protected document within ShareVault. ShareVault Reader can open files in read-only mode, which blocks saving the document to your computer. If you have the proper permissions, however, you can download an SVPDF to your computer and then open it by double-clicking on it. SVPDF documents that have been saved with ShareVault Reader have an .svpdf file extension.

Note that your right to open an SVPDF can be revoked at any time by the ShareVault administrator.

One advantage of ShareVault Reader is that it enables you to scroll through a document faster than the ShareVault Web Viewer. Another is that documents that are converted by ShareVault from Microsoft Excel® to SVPDF are presented with a spreadsheet user interface, making it much easier to view large spreadsheets.

If you want to use ShareVault Reader to view all of your protected ShareVault documents, uncheck the “Use ShareVault Web Viewer” checkbox on the ShareVault Preferences page.

ShareVault Reader lets you do the following:

• Open and view PDF and SVPDF documents
• Browse a document
• Zoom in and out
• Find text in a document
• Select and copy text in a document and paste it into an email, etc. (if you have the proper ShareVault permissions)
• Print a document (if you have permission)
• Save a document (if you have permission)

Additional features for documents converted by ShareVault from Excel® to SVPDF:

• View each worksheet as a single page
• Navigate from worksheet to worksheet with tabs at the bottom of the screen, like in Excel®
• View page boundaries within the worksheet
• Toggle the display of a crosshairs cursor
