ShareVault

Reader Helper.

ShareVault Reader enables you to view a PDF document or SVPDF document securely.

You can choose how you want to view documents in ShareVault Reader.

Browse a Document

When you open a document with multiple pages, a single Sharevault Reader window opens showing the first page of the document. If the sidebar is open, you can see the thumbnails of additional pages.

    • Use the table of contents to browse a document: Choose View > Table of Contents or click the View document menu button ( Left naviation toolbar ) and select Table of Contents.
    • Use thumbnail images to browse a document: Choose View > Thumbnails or click the View document menu button ( Left naviation toolbar ) and select Thumbnails.

The following graphic shows a portion of the ShareVault Reader window with thumbnails visible.

ShareVault Reader Thumbnails

  • Change the size of the thumbnails: Choose View > Thumbnails, then drag the sidebar’s separator to the left or right to change the width of the sidebar.
  • Go to the previous page or the next page: Click the Previous page button ( Previous page button ) or the Next page button ( Next page button ) on the toolbar.
  • Go to a specific page: Choose Go > Go to Page or type the page number in the Page number field ( Page number field ) and then press the Enter key.

Document Tabs

When more than one document is open, except for spreadsheet documents converted from Excel by ShareVault, tabs will be shown above the toolbar, and you can click a tab to display the appropriate document. If you wish to view two documents in separate windows, for example to compare the two documents, you can select the View menu or right-click on the tab and select the Open in Separate Window menu item. When a document is displayed in a separate window, you can restore it to being displayed in a tab by selecting View > Open in Tab. Spreadsheet documents converted from Excel by ShareVault are each opened in a separate window and cannot be displayed in tabs like other documents.

If there are a number of tabs open, the width of the ShareVault Reader window might not fit all of the tabs. In this case, you can click the menu button ( Tab menu button ) that appears to the right of the tabs to select the desired tab. Alternatively, you can scroll left and right through the open tabs using the left ( Tab scroll left button ) and right ( Tab scroll right button ) tab scroll arrows.

Zoom in and out

  • To zoom in or out, choose View > Zoom In or View > Zoom Out or click the zoom in ( Zoom In button ) or zoom out ( Zoom Out button ) buttons on the toolbar. On some trackpads, you can push your fingers together or apart on the trackpad to zoom in and out.
  • To zoom the page so that it fits in the current window, choose View > Zoom to Fit.

Rotate page(s)

  • To rotate the current page, choose View menu or click the rotate page ( Rotate button ) button, and then choose either Rotate Page CW (clockwise) or View Rotate Page CCW (counter-clockwise).
  • To rotate all of the page in the current document, choose View menu or click the rotate page ( Rotate button ) button, and then choose either Rotate All CW (clockwise) or View Rotate All CCW (counter-clockwise).

Viewing spreadsheet documents converted from Excel by ShareVault

Spreadsheet documents converted from an Excel spreadsheet by ShareVault will be shown with the “Excel Viewing Mode” toggle button ( Rotate button) in the upper right corner. Excel viewing mode is the default for such documents, so all of the pages of each Excel worksheet are seamlessly “stitched” together to form a single worksheet. You can scroll vertically and horizontally in the worksheet just like you would in Excel. The tabs at the bottom of the screen allow you to select which worksheet you would like to view.

If you would like to turn off “Excel Viewing Mode”, click the toggle button which will show the document as a normally paginated SVPDF. Click again to go back to Excel Viewing Mode. To toggle the display of a crosshairs cursor, which can be helpful as a visual aid in lining-up rows or columns of numbers on a large display, click the “Crosshairs Display” toggle ( Crosshairs toggle ). To toggle the display of pagination lines and page numbers as an overlay on the worksheet, click the “Pagination Display” toggle button ( Pagination toggle ).

If you print a spreadsheet document, it will be printed without “Excel Viewing Mode” for better printed pagination.
